Mum’s the Word at Battersea Power Station 

Mums will be celebrated in a gaggle of delicious ways at the iconic Power Station this Sunday - from complimentary prosecco at Birdies Battersea to a fancy Italian feast at Fiume with a special gift from Rituals.

Or perhaps she’d prefer an afternoon tea experience at Cinnamon Kitchen (pictured), a free Mimosa at Where the Pancakes Are; attending an exclusive champagne and chocolate pairing event with Searcys and Venchi or eating a special set menu while admiring the London skyline views at JOIA. Every mother figure will leave feeling like the QUEEN she is.

Sticks ’n’ Sushi's Free Sweet Treats

The Japanese and Danish fusion restaurants across the capital (and beyond) will be offering free Chokōretos to guests, to celebrate mums on 10 March.

Families willl be treated to the complimentary, limited edition sweet treats; flavoured with Matcha ganache and matcha tea, Amarena cherry ganache and blackcurrant, with Caramel and sesame. 

And parents can actually relax and enjoy a meal, because the restaurants keep sprogs happy with interactive menus, games and goodies like chocolate fish. Boom.

Available across Sticks n’ Sushi restaurants in Shoreditch, Cambridge, Greenwich, King’s Road, Wimbledon, White City and Kingston. 10 March


Indian meal

Mums Dine For Free at Mint Leaf

Mint Leaf London invites mums to dine for free and feast on a three course menu created for Mother’s Day. 

Celebrations kick off with Motherhood, a cognac cocktail with notes of almond and banana. Followed by a selection of appetisers including Garlic and Thyme Chicken Tikka, Dill and Honey Tandoori Salmon and Chickpea and Potato Chaat.

Then feast on Neelgiri Chicken, Fish Moilee or Paneer Makhani, all accompanied by Tadka Dal and steamed rice or naan. And the grand finale is a light and sophisticated Rose Petal Cheesecake.

Colonel Saab

Colonel Saab’s Mother’s Day Special

Award-winning restaurant Colonel Saab is inspired by the owner Roop Partap Choudhary’s mother, Binny - her presence, portraits, love letters, wedding garments, art and recipes fill its Holborn and Trafalgar Square restaurants.

And this mother’s day, its new Trafalgar Square restaurant will celebrate Binny and all mothers with a special, set menu. It includes prosecco, starters like Kandhari paneer tikka, dahi sev puri with tomato garlic chutney; mains including Railway Lamb Curry with naan and rice followed by their Mango and Pistachio kulfi, mango sauce, fresh berries, raspberry coulis.

Sicilian feast

Norma’s Sicilian Mother’s Feast

Mamma mia! Fitzrovia’s Sicilian-inspired restaurant, Norma will open especially this Sunday, to treat the mother figures in your life to a molto bene Sicilian feast.

Executive Chef Giovann Attard has created a seasonal set menu for the occasion, with guests able to choose between two, three or four courses, from £40pp. A complimentary glass of bubbly will greet all mothers, followed by antipasti to share, including Caponata and Spaghettini fritters with parmesan sauce. Primi include the restaurant’s signature Pasta alla Norma followed by a choice of Mamma’s beef lasagne; Porchetta, sage, Sicilian roasted potatoes and smoked pork sauce; and Aubergine parmigiana. Norma’s infamous Tiramisu or Marsala poached pear and chocolate orange ice cream provide the perfect sweet conclusion to a Sicilian-style Mother’s Day lunch.

Market Place Thanks Mums with Free Cocktails

This Sunday, mums can enjoy a free cocktail at the street food market’s Vauxhall, Peckham and Harrow locations with no purchase necessary.

But the least you can do is stick your hand in your pocket and get a a bite from one of the vendors, which include Streat Latin Arepas, Little Tokyo, Los Tacos, Argentinian Grill, The Duck Shed, Inamo Sukoshi, Made In Puglia, Rudies Jerk Shack and Choy House.

The tipples will be available all day until the mums have drained the bars

Argentinian roast

Sucre’s Argentinian Roast and Free Mum’s Bellinis

Treat your matriarch to the ultimate roast this Sunday - Argentinian-style, with grilled entraña and chicken a la Brasa, and a South American twist on trimmings, like roasted Brussels sprouts with kale and chilli oil.  

Sucre is also serving up a complimentary Peach and Jasmine Bellini for all Mums to toast their awesomeness with.

Bank House Sweetens up Mother’s Day

Celebrity Chef Stuart Gillies is unleashing some extra sweetness this Mother’s Day, with shiny, new, limited edition puddings available this Sunday. The desserts include Bread and Butter Pudding, Doughnuts with Valhrona Chocolate and Pineapple Carpaccio. Mums can also enjoy a special cocktail created by their mixology alchemist, Anton Cole, inspired by the restaurant’s co-owner Cecilia, who Anton views as a mother figure. Sweet!
