CELEBRITY CHEF LAUNCHES INNOVATIVE BEAUTY MENU
Stuart Gillies' Beauty and the Feast includes collagen drinks and blood-purifying ingredients
TV chef, Stuart Gillies has announced a unique 'Beauty Menu' that promises to heal and protect the body after the bashing it inevitably receives over Christmas.
Gillies, who served as Gordon Ramsay's right hand man during a seven-year stint as CEO of the potty-mouthed cook's empire, now owns two restaurants of his own - Number Eight in Sevenoaks and Bank House in Chislehurst. And both venues will be offering the decadent, eight-course menu throughout January.
Using years of culinary experience gleaned from working in kitchens across the world, from Daniel in NYC to Hotel Lord Byron in Rome, and Le Caprice and The Connaught in London, Gillies has created the menu using the best, luxury artisan suppliers, with each dish carefully created to restore or enhance the body's defences.
Dishes include protein and vitamin-rich buckwheat blinis with oscietra caviar and sour cream, and the antiviral, antiseptic and antioxidant Garlic Roast Chicken with baby spinach, pumpkin, shiitake, lentils and Japanese artichokes.
The Cornish mackerel fillet with soft boiled quail egg, watercress, green beans and sesame salad is loaded with vitamins A,B, C, plus Zinc and selenium, while the roasted ramero pepper, avocado and vine tomato salad with feta, black olives and pumpkin seed oil is rich in antioxidants, bioflavonoid, lycopene and omega 6 essential fatty acids.
Even the dessert - a Valrhona 70% chocolate and almond milk fondue with tropical fruits - is packed with free radical fighting antioxidants, flavonoids, anti-inflammatories and magnesium.
It's an innovative take on the January wellness trend, when some opt to go vegan and others cut their calories for the month, but Gillies has found a way for diners to enjoy a guilt-free feast and leave with full bellies.
As well as making his name in the kitchens of Michelin-starred restaurants, Gillies has appeared on TV shows including Saturday Kitchen, Hell's Kitchen and Great British Menu.
His two restaurants have won rave reviews for their Modern European and Traditional British cuisine, with menus focused on high-quality ingredients from local suppliers.
Guests will be able to choose from a meat/fish or vegan menu, each costing £65. Alcohol-free drinks like Kombucha and Green Tea will be on offer and for those not ready to sail into Dry January just yet, carefully selected wines with health benefits will also be available.
1 - 30 January 2024. Price £65. Booking in advance is required
